Hypnosis to Stop Smoking might actually Work

by stop smoking on January 1, 2012

While you certainly can use hypnosis to stop smoking, you have to realize that hypnosis is only a way to help enhance your own will. Even before you try hypnosis, you want to try your best to strengthen your own personal will. You can’t just treat hypnosis to stop smoking like it was a drug that could work with or without your trying. It might work over the short term, but without personally being committed to trying, whatever success you find will not last. With that little disclaimer behind us, let’s see how hypnosis actually works for smokers.

When the practitioner hypnotizes you, he induces you to enter a new plane of consciousness – where you’re fully awake, but your conscious brain ducks out of the action. When you’re in this state, when your conscious brain checks out, the rest of you is usually quite open to suggestion.

The thing is, hypnotism can never make you do anything that your inner mind never wanted to do in the first place. So you can rest assured that your free will is still in charge. However, if you’re subconscious wants to do something but your conscious brain is just too messed up to allow it to do what it wants, then hypnotism works.

What does it feel like to be hypnotized?

Everyone has experienced it from time to time. It happens when they are so engrossed in something that they lose track of time. It happens when there really concentrating on something or when you’re really good book or when there really happy together with their romantic partner. It kind of feels like it spent 5 min., when in fact it has been two hours. That’s what it feels like to be hypnotized – or an inner part of you takes charge.

Using hypnosis to stop smoking can be a really powerful thing. It can take your own willpower and put it in charge of you. When it’s very hard to stop smoking, when you feel terrible about quitting and you crave for that cigarette, it isn’t the the real you talking. It’s your conscious brain that’s influenced by a thousand things it sees around.

Sign up for hypnosis on the other hand, and little voice in your head suddenly finds the power to be assertive. There are all kinds of quit-smoking hypnosis programs out there. There is the Non-Smoker’s Edge program with 7CDs that you use at home and there are many other systems. It’s really up to you which one you choose.

Does a Nicotine Inhaler really help you Quit Smoking?

by stop smoking on December 31, 2011

It was a British scientist who first thought of what the British like to call a safe cigarette. It is a tubular-shaped device that you can suck on like you would a cigarette, that delivers a kind of nicotine vapor. The device has become quite popular since then and is now known as the nicotine inhaler.

The nicotine inhaler isn’t a cigarette. It doesn’t have tobacco and it doesn’t burn.  It does give a smoker some of what he’s looking for though – it gives them something to use that sorts of looks like a cigarette, it gives him something to drag on just like you would with a cigarette, and it gives him the high he’s looking for. It might be a better way to go because it doesn’t annoy anyone around him and it doesn’t destroy his lungs.

Is the nicotine inhaler everything that its promoters claim it to be? Well, it depends how you look at it.

Certainly, the nicotine inhaler is a safer alternative. But that’s small relief; the cigarette is so bad for you, but to merely be better than it doesn’t really go far enough. At one time, scientists used to think that nicotine was the least harmful of all the things the various chemicals and substances that cigarette smoke contained. They don’t think that anymore.

Nicotine can change a lot of things and how your body works. It can make your immune system slow down, it can set the digestive system, and it speeds up aging by making it difficult for the body to do away with old cells.

There is a well-known term for what happens when the body finds it difficult to let old and useless cells die. It’s called cancer. You see, cancer isn’t some terrible disease that only happens to some people. It’s a natural process that we all have going on within us.

We always have mutant cells trying to multiply in our bodies, and the body usually finds a way to get rid of them. When we smoke though, the body begins to lose its ability to stop natural cancer. When tumors come up in the lungs or anywhere else, your nicotine-addled body cannot get rid of it properly anymore. That’s why your risk of cancer rises.

E-cigarettes and nicotine inhalers though aren’t really aids that help you quit smoking. They’re not like the nicotine replacement therapy devices that we all know about – like nicotine patches. Those devices only give you a small quantity of nicotine, to keep you from losing your mind without tobacco. E-cigarettes and nicotine inhalers on the other hand are capable of giving you the full blast of nicotine. They might help you quit smoking if you’re really, really determined. But Nicotine Inhaler don’t do as much as you would think.
